Faith, Love and BBQ

Last Sunday Fletcher was given the gift of Baptism.  Even though the weather wasn't the best we were not going to let a spring storm rain on his parade.

The night before the baptism we brought out the boys' bibs, candles and other items that are reminders of their baptism day.  We hoped it would make Fletcher's day have more meaning for them.  We even dug out Dad's candle, although it wouldn't light.

 We looked at pictures from their special days and talked about how we celebrated.  After our discussion they were truly excited for Fletcher.

Fletcher did so well and didn't shed a tear.  This was my favorite moment of the day.

 We had a KC Style luncheon catered by Jack Stack and Boulevard.

We gave this box to Fletcher in honor of his baptism.  It was handmade by Ian Byrne.

It was a special day for Fletcher full of faith, love and BBQ.  What more does a boy need :)

Happy May Day.

The boys have been working on their May Day project all week. 

Painting aluminum cans, picking out flowers and planting them. 

Too bad we don't have time to actually deliver them today!  

Tomorrow we'll be surprising a few lucky people with these on their front step ;) 

Earth Day

The boys hosted their 2nd annual Earth Day party last week. We went with a "Lorax" theme because Max has been obsessed with the book since they read it at school this past month.  I figured it tied in with Earth Day nicely.

We also made "litter bugs" at the party.  The boys and I collected trash over the past few weeks to use for the project.

The boys and I also planted a tree together a few days ago.  Just a tiny little cedar tree.  I figure if we cut down one at Christmastime the least we could do is plant another.  Once it get's bigger we'll decide where to transplant it. 

I love to see the littles doing their part to make the earth a better place.
